CAVITY DRAINAGE

Hohmann & Barnard Mortar/Grout Screen

Mortar/Grout Screen (MGS) is a 1/4″ square monofilament screen fabricated from high-strength, non-corrosive polypropylene polymers which offers the following benefits:

Isolates flow of grout in designated areas requiring reinforced concrete block

Allows for greater bonding of masonry anchor in hollow block construction

Micro-thin material has high tensile and burst strength yet will not interfere with mortar bond

Hohmann & Bernard Mortar Trap

Mortar Trap™ is manufactured from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) strands woven into a 90% open mesh. Its unique shape breaks up mortar droppings and prohibits mortar from creating a moisture retaining barrier, allowing water to flow freely to the weep holes.

Hohmann & Bernard Mortar Web

Mortar Web suspends mortar droppings and redirects moisture to the exterior of the structure. Bypassing mortar collection altogether, moisture is able to dissipate correctly and avoid pooling within the wall. The straight cut and recycled heavy fiber weave makes this product more effective than the alternative pea gravel application. Mortar Web will not aid in the growth of mold, mildew or fungus. It is equal or superior to other mortar collection devices on the market, but sold at a fraction of the cost.

Hohmann & Barnard Mortar Trap Weep Vents

A 100% recycled polyester plastic non-woven mesh vent which is treated with a flame retardant and ultra-violet inhibitors. Used in vertical joints between brick masonry in masonry wall construction to provide for the drainage of moisture and promotion of air flow. The weep vents also prevent insects from entering through the openings.

Hohmann & Barnard Quadro-Vent

QV – Quadro-Vent’s honeycomb design allows passage of moisture from cavity to the building exterior while restricting ingress of insects and other debris

Quadro-Vent™ allows passage of moisture up to its 2 1/2″ height, important in the event of mortar droppings at bottom of the cavity

Polypropylene tested in conformance with ASTM D2240, D790B, D638 and D1238B

Also suitable for top of wall venting.

MortarNet BlockNet

The BlockNet CMU single wythe flashing solution reliably protects CMU walls from water infiltration damage by enabling moisture to easily drain from the block cell interiors to the building exterior.

MortarNet with Insect Barrier

MortarNet helps prevent moisture damage to masonry cavity walls by preventing mortar droppings from blocking the weep holes and by providing hundreds of clear drainage pathways that allow moisture to flow to the weeps.  It’s open mesh also allows air movement to help equalize pressure and dry the cavity.

MortarNet BlockFlash

BlockFlash is a complete, embeddable flashing solution for managing moisture in exterior single wythe CMU walls.  It uses patented flashing pans to collect moisture in the wall and channel it to the exterior through integrated weep spouts.  Its included drainage mesh provides hundreds of clear pathways for water to flow around mortar droppings inside the block cells so it can be collected by the pans.

MortarNet Total Flash

The patented TotalFlash Cavity Wall Drainage Solution is a complete, factory-assembled masonry cavity wall flashing system that cuts labor costs and provides better performance than standard through wall flashing. It combines a flashing membrane with a mortar dropping collection drainage mat, weep tabs, drip edge and termination bar into a single, easy-to-install panel.

MortarNet Cell Vents

CellVent is a key component of a masonry cavity wall drainage system.  It allows moisture to drain from the cavity while restricting insects and debris from entering the cavity.  It also allows air to move in and out of the cavity, which helps prevent air pressure differentials that can force moisture into the cavity and which allows the wall to dry properly.

CellVent are fabricated from durable polypropelyene and are UV stabilized for long life.  They are available in 7 colors to complement most wall designs.

MortarNet Weep Vents

WeepVent for masonry cavity walls helps ensure that moisture can migrate out and air can circulate into the cavity, and that insects can’t enter the cavity through the weep holes.  The product’s compressibility means it can completely fill the weep holes, and “prickly adhesion” holds the WeepVent in place without fasteners or adhesives.

Wire-Bond Cavity Net Rain Screen

Cavity Net RS is perfect for all exterior siding applications. Our innovative rainscreen technology equalizes the air pressure within the wall system by creating a drainage and ventilation cavity between the weather resistant barrier (WRB) and the exterior wall. This design allows excess moisture to drain from the wall system and allows ventilated air to circulate and dry the interior wall components.

Wire-Bond Cell Vent

#3601 Cell Vent (ultra violet resistant polypropylene co-polymer), consists of many small, adjacent passageways bonded together in one unit. It’s cellular composition provides easy drainage for moisture along the full height of the head joint.

Wire-Bond Cavity Net I and II

Wire-Bond® Cavity Net I and II are popular cost competitive ways to ensure proper cavity wall drainage. These mortar deflection devices ensure that mortar droppings do not block the weep holes at the base of the cavity.

Cavity Net I :

Polymer core geomatrix composed of high density polyethylene strands woven into a .80″ thick mesh

The design allows moisture to seep down through any mortar droppings and exit the cavity wall through the weep holes. Used in cavity walls ranging from 1″ to 1-3/4″ in width.

Cavity Net II :

1.5″ thick high-density polyethylene geometric design used for cavities 2″ and wider.

The staggered dimples design suspend mortar droppings and redirect moisture to the exterior by way of the weep holes.

The slightly narrower design helps avoid any possible bridging of mortar across the cavity.

Wire-Bond Cavity Net DT

Cavity Net DT™ is used in masonry cavity wall construction. Manufactured from high-strength nylon with a 95% open three-dimensional matrix.

Cavity Net DT™ allows air and water to flow freely. Its unique dovetail shape with continuous base suspends mortar droppings at two levels preventing mortar bridging and allows moisture to exit the wall through weeps or vents.

  • Water Management Products
The need for water management in stucco assemblies has become a major concern among contractors and architects. CEMCO has taken an active role in assisting the construction industry by introducing water management stucco accessories. All of the products in CEMCO’s new line of accessories will have dual functions.  First, they will serve as stucco grounds to maintain the proper thickness.  Second, they will be flashings to divert water away from the water-resistant barrier, a feat CEMCO achieved by extending the width of the attachment leg and removing the perforated nailing holes. CEMCO will also address the issue of stucco-accessory corrosion resistance by manufacturing the water management accessories in 25-gauge materials with a G-90 zinc coating.
